Reading on safari
What do you all like to read while en route and on safari?
We leave for Tanzania on July 29(can't believe we're finally going on a safari!)and we're going to hit the used book stores for 3-4 books we will leave behind for others. Recommendations for podcasts and downloadable audio books would also be welcome.

i read the second book by corinne hofman somewhat like "returning to kenya".
wasn't impressed by the content. the first book was more interesting as kenya at that time was for us a new destination incl. culture etc.. but knowing what we knew then, when i read the second book, i wasn't amazed, impressed or puzzled at all.
anyway quite a remarkable woman and not the one and only doing what she did: marry a samburu. there are dozens of women but all failed to live with them.
one tried to make it going (for her ;-) ) taking the massai with her to london. that poor guy almost went nuts and returned to his homeland within the first 6 month........

Check out the thread titled "What are you reading now?" for suggestions mostly dealing with Africa themed books. I am working my way through the list, currently reading WE wish to inform you that tomorrow we will be killed with our families. I have enjoyed Elephant Memories by Cynthia Moss, A Primate's Memoir by Robert Sapolsky; Among The Elephants by Iain and Oria Douglas-Hamilton. For a light, quick, sweet read, any of the Ladies #1 Detective Agency by McCall Smith. Happy reading and safe travels.

Someone on this forum had a wonderfully detailed reading list divided into categories where I got some suggestions but I can't remember who, someone may have his name but you'll get so many good titles from that other thread.
