Marrakch in July.. Crazy?

So... our plans to go to Morocco in May were derailed and now have drifted into July.
We're looking at the beginning of July and I'm hoping that means the heat won't be unbearable.
How hot is it?
Should I skip it?
And I'm read somewhere of a fesitval in Marrakech in July but can't find further information.

Yes it will be hot in July.

The national festival of popular arts is indeed taking place in M'Kech early July 2007(music, folk dances and songs).

They have a website (in French only for the moment)http://www.marrakechfestival.com/
However I do not think they still have a definite programme for the 2007 edition.

Thanks, Joelle.
How hot is hot? I'm presuming a lack of humidity?

Think upper 80s and 90s - sometimes rising over 100. Its hot! True, its dry heat, but it can be difficult to escape from it.

I've spent time in Palm Springs in May- hihg 90's.. I'm assuming it's similar.
Should we condsider skipping Morroco this time and just move on to the European portion of the trip?
Thanks for your help!

welch,
No one can really answer that for you. Should you skip it? I dont know. Will you be comfortable in those temperatures? If not, then skip it. If so, then come on over.

It's hot, but not oppressive. And you get fantastic 'velvet nights' to party in. Make sure you have an air conditioned room and enjoy the atmosphere.
