Help! Go King's Camp to Botswana?

Advice desperately needed! Would it be worth the experience to travel from Kings Camp to to Stanley's Camp or Grey Matters with Doug and Sandy, giving up perhaps one day out of 3 at Kings Camp to experience the elephant experience? We are spending 5 days in Cape Town, 3 nights at King's Camp and 3 nights in Djuma (Vuyatela). We leave US on 9/24.

Going to any of the delta camps, necessitates spending an overnight in JNB. Keep that in mind.....

Why? Most flights from Europe, arrive in JNB early in the morning, usually leaving sufficient time to xfer to the early connection to Maun.

Amol,

What i meant was, they need to spend one night in JNB! If they started with Botswana, then they would need to spend a night at JNB prior to leaving to the Sabi Sands the next day.

If they start with the SA portion, then overnight at JNB prior to Bots. So, my point was .... to factor an extra night for the transit!

Thank you so much for your replies. I didn't give details in lst email 'cause of space, but we are locked into the itinerary that I outlined above. The elephant opportunity came up only after the above arrangements were made. We can't change flights, etc. We are now going from Atlanta to JNB, JNB to CT (same day), CT to Kings Camp and then onto Vuyatela. Would leave Kings Camp for a day for the elephant experience and then return. Therefore, our indecision about going for the elephant experience.Cost would be $300/person. Any and all input would be appreciated!!

I dont see how you could leave Kings Camp for 1 day, go to the Delta, experience the elephants and get back for $300.

I must be missing something here.

stick to your original schedule Elaine .... hopping around, you'd spend time in planes and airports vs in the bush in the landcruiser where you'd rather be!
