A colleague who used be a Kenyan tour guide for over 15 years has offered to assist me in planning my trip to Africa. He has recommended using Thousand Hills Expeditions for the Rwanda portion. I did not find any reference to the company on this forum. Their website is rather sparse and I can't find much information on them on the web.

Aren't they listed in the Bradt Guide to Rwanda? The name sounds familiar. Check the tripadvisor forum too.

I would post a question on the tripadvisor forum. There is at least one regular poster there who lives in Rwanda and is familiar with a number of operators. SarahfromRwanda or something like that.

Good luck. You will love Rwanda--a very sad history but a beautiful, lush, green country with many hopes for a brighter future.

I'm getting very close to finalizing all the details. I should be booking something in the next few days.
