Green Season Botswana in pictures
Hi! Having just given the pbase site a try after the Masai Mara trip, and also having been inspired by Russell's recent images - I have added 30 pictures from my Green Season Botswana visit from this past January to both the Kwando and Kwara concessions. Many of you will recognize the animals.
This gallery is pretty biased towards cheetah

Hari I agree that Pbase, although not having as slick of an uploading interface as other sites, is one of the better ones for overall visual presentation. Also always can learn by seeing the exif information.
You are one lucky man seeing that cheetah kill. Great shots! Also, I really like the lighting of your photo of the two lionesses under the tree.

Wow, thanks Hari. I REALLY enjoyed looking at those and have left some comments at pbase.
Sometimes viewing the photos of fellow Fodorites inspires me to do better and other times I wonder whether I should give up entirely as I'll never match up!!!

Hi! Thanks so much, Kavey and Russell.
Thanks Kavey for your msg on pbase too.
Russell - I didn't get to see the dogs that trip, but, I can't complain with all the fabulous cheetah viewing.

Wow. Amazing. That poor zebra. I know it's the circle of life, but it's still hard to see.
Do you think it would survive or more likely succumb to infection or not be able to run fast enough get away the next time?
Fantastic pics. I must admit I keep going back to look again.
Thanks

Thanks all for your very kind words of encouragement.....
Feistybrit - The Zebra looked okay. Our guide, thought the wound was probably a few days old and the animal looked fine. I don't recall any signs of discomfort, and animals have an amazing strength in them to recover adequately, i think.
Richard - Thanks and sounds good.
Divine - Thanks ......

Magnificent photos Hari. The cheetah photos are amazing; no surprise at the bias of the gallery
but I also really like the photo of the hippo in the water with all the birds. Great shot. The impala kill photos are also really great. I haven't looked at the Mara photos yet, but will soon. I still have to finish looking at Russell's photos. I can see how they inspired you to try pbase, and I'm glad you did. These pics are incredible.
Hari, just how often do you go on safari? Every time I look at trip reports and photos you have either just taken another trip or are about to take one. I am so jealous. It seems like you go several times a year. Can that be right? Are you really that lucky or am I just jealous, wishing I were you, thinking you are over there more often than you really are? Please fess up! Just how many safaris do you really go on per year?

Thanks to the both of you - Dana and Leely ......
Dana - this year has been very lucky for me. I usually only go once a year ...... last month, I had the opportunity to add the last minute trip to Kenya(all planned within a week) because of a work related visit to Dubai that came up. Nairobi was just about a 4ish hour flight from there.

Hari,
You are surely joshing me. Once a year? Come on! I know the Mara trip was combined with business because you "were close", but what about Bots and Mala Mala? I've only been on this board for about a year, maybe year and a half, and I swear every time I turn around you've just gotten back or are leaving again. Please fess up so we can all wish we were you, Hari!
