Ditto exactly what Sherry said. When I saw those lion photos, I thought, "Well, I guess Maddy wasn't exaggerating."
Terrific report and photos. Looking forward to reading about your planning for the next trip.
Enviously yours,
Leely

Nice photos, Maddy! I'm glad you enjoyed your trip to East Africa. I've talked to Chuck a few times. He used to work with David Anderson, whom I've used for a few trips to Africa.
Nixon was one of our guides on a trip to Tanzania in June 2004. We celebrated his birthday then, too. He was still in learning mode back then, but I understand he's become a great guide.
After Tanzania, Botswana is my favorite place. You'd love it!

Thanks everyone for all your responses!
ShayTay - small world isn't it? I just checked out David Anderson's site. His book looks wonderful - I think I'll pick up a copy. Nixon was a great guide - plus, we had a lot of fun with him. Isac, from Saruni, was an excellent guide and he had a great personality. I wonder if he is still there? Sandi might know... Every time I think I want to go back to East Africa, I start looking at Botswana info - I can't make a decision! I'll keep looking :c)

Maddy, thanks for sharing your photos. You have some beautiful topis there, the hyenas look sweet, I love the cheetah mouth and the elephant under the Crater Lodge looks really mysterious. I didn’t know that snakes had problems with ticks. Someone should have helped that mamba. Good idea blowing up the lion. I think the black and white bird is a magpie shrike.
