Best Flights from U.S. (East Coast) to Cairo?

Traveling in 2012 and with the direct flight from NY to Cairo no longer available, what are the best flights to take to try to avoid double connections? Anyone have experience with Egypt Air (appears to be good from a cost perspective - going Economy Class)? Any airlines/flights specifically to avoid based upon a prior experience? Thank you for any perspective you can lend.

www.airlinequality.com

will have the 4 stars with honest recent reviews.

on that route notably Air France and Turkish IAD IST CAI

good personal experience on both intermediate stop can be fun.

cheapoair.com kayak.com/buzz

good airfares out of NYC IAD to CAI usually best.

I am a FF miles junkie might also consider United

getting their new CC and booking with it

To get enough miles for 2 more long flights.

Happy Hunting!

Egypt Air is non-stop to CAI. Go for it.

What was the other non-stop? Delta?

We just flew Egypt Air non-stop from JFK to Cairo in September. It was very good; we had no complaints. We flew economy class.

Hi brenda,
Actually Egypt Air is a decent Airline now, You can use the direct one JFK / Cairo it takes about 11 hours and they improved there services alot recently.
Wish you a safe trip to Cairo

Compare Egypt Air to Delta, but I prefer Egypt Air. Both are flying from JFK to CAI, I believe.

Thank you everyone for your feedback - it is very helpful. Going to opt for Egypt Air based upon your comments to minimize connections.

Yes Perfect, I wish you can find the best airfare with Egypt Air. you can also try to get airfares through travel agents in Egypt, sometimes they have better deals according to the date of traveling.
Wish you all the best
