A great safari guide: Robert Philip Massai
First of all, I want to thank everyone who helped us plan our safari trip to Tanzania.
We were there from 11-16-06 to 11-26-06 and used Predators Safari. Our guide, Robert Philip Massai, was absolutely fantastic. His knowledge of the african fauna, flora, and culture was encyclopedic. We were able to see everything we wished to see and more: the big five and the elusive tree climbing lion!
We were so impressed with his ability to spot animals and explain to us the subtleties of animal behavior. He also introduced us to the rich culture of the people of Tanzania (he speaks the Massai language). He was so gregarious and as enthusiastic as us about viewing the wildlife. All in all, he was an excellent travel companion and a truly wonderful and compassionate human being.
At the end of the trip, we invited Robert and his lovely family to join us for dinner. It was Thanksgiving time in America and we wanted to celebrate the occasion with our new friends (who we regard as our extended family). It was sad to say good-bye, but I know that we will keep in touch with Robert and his family.
We recommend Robert without hesitation.
When I've shaken off my jet lag, I will give a more detailed account of our travels.
Take care!
