Swarovski tour in Austria

Has anyone done the swarovski tour in Wattens Austria? Is it worth doing? The only reason I was thinking of going to Innsbruck was to take the Swarovski tour but I didn't know if it was really worth seeing.

Have a look at www.swarovski.com.

As far as I can tell, they do not have a tour of the workshop or factory but an "installation" done by an artist, with lights, music, etc.

Also bear in mind that Wattens is, if I recall correctly, 17 kms from Innsbruck.

In my opinion it is not worth a special trip to see it. In addition the shop offers items only at regular retail prices.
Often very crowded with almost every tour bus that passes on the Autobahn.

Many more exciting things to do in Austria with your time than here.

We spent an afternoon going out to the Swarovski exhibit - I was sorry I wasted my time. I thought it was cheesy but I am not a crystal/Swarovski fan. So why did we go? We had seen a pamphlet at the TI that made it look neat - something about lights in the mountain and a garden maze. It was quite a disappointment. I stayed a week in Innsbruck visiting my daughter - I liked it but not sure I would have gone there otherwise. Pretty town but there are other places in Austria that are pretty and maybe more to do. I am a collector, but based on all of your replies it sounds like it would be a waste of my time to go. Thanks for your help.

Swarovski has their own 2 story retail store in Vienna. If you will be there- they have many of the new items made by the firm in a nice atmosphere.

I have to agree with the above comments that the tour of Swarovski leaves a lot be be desired. In addition to Vienna, there is also a large Swarovski store in Innsbruck, which is a much better place to spend your time!
