Tour "Around the world in 60 beers" includes Austria

In March 2008 a bunch of Australian beer drinkers will set off from London to begin the world's biggest pub crawl. The tour will take 25 days and will visit 60 pubs in 11 destinations on four continents, including the Alpine village of Austria's Maria Alm. The tour promises to provide "Australian humour" but no "boring" sightseeing or other cultural offerings. "We're going to party hard around the globe for nearly a month so the weak need not apply. There are no early wake-ups and definitely no visiting Eiffel towers," bragged the tour organizer. Costs is about US$ 9,600.
Do you think spaces will fill up quickly? Would you participate in such a tour?
Prost!

I might if someone could explain what "Australian humor" actually is.

Will sex be allowed?

Sounds like a lot of fun. Although I happen to like "boring sightseeing and cultural offerings", I also really enjoy beer, so I think a trip focusing on that would be really cool. I really like the no early wake ups part

I love beer, but, to me at least, it sounds like a huge waste of money. $10,000 just to drink beer I can buy at Sams? I think not. I would need a little more to motivate me.

P.S. I don't mean to offend anyone who is doing this or thinks it is a great idea.

Interesting,

www.kayak.com shows airfare for Sydney/London-Istanbul/Sydney for about $2000.

Figure hotels at $85 pp dbl, and $110 pd for M&IE = about $5000.

That leaves $2600 for travel between towns and beer.

Not outrageously expensive.

Ah, but not the world's biggest pub crawl. You've got some work to do there ...

http://tinyurl.com/ysj4go

3 months 300 bars and pubs, 27 towns 13 countries, 4 continents. Guess where he found his favorite beers?

By the way, there was a great interview with an Austrailian writer:
