Patti Smith in Paris

I'd like to see Patti Smith perform in Paris on Thursday 22 October. I looked for a ticket online and found a website and I think there was a seat available but when I tried to purchase the ticket nothing happened when I clicked on what I thought was the button to buy a ticket. Perhaps it was because I'm not in France and was trying to buy from home? Or I did it wrong?

This is the message I received online when I followed the link for a mezzanine ticket: There is more space currently available in this category. Others could be given on sale later.

But nothing happens after the message comes up. This is the site I went to:
http://en.olympiahall.com/rock-elect...ith.html/4765/

I'm going to see if I can find a ticket broker that isn't too expensive. If anyone has an extra ticket they'd like to sell me, please let me know! Or if you know of an easy way to find a ticket, please share that info.

Many thanks.
Pat.

I tried the website in French. For all three categories, it said that there is no seat avaible but you may try later.

In the English version, they forgot the little word "no".

I am afraid the concert is sold out and there is not much hope to get a ticket.

When concerts are listed as "complet", you can go in person to the Olympia's box office on the day of the performance. Usually, there are some unused VIP tickets that are released about an hour before the show starts, but you should go earlier than that to get in the box office line. They are the most expensive seats in the house, but absolutely the best, if you can afford it. You can also keep trying the Olympia's official website, because sometimes tickets are returned for resale there.

Whatever you do, do not buy tickets from anyone outside the theatre! These are almost always just printed from a home computer by scam artists. There are plain clothes police watching these crooks, but they can't catch them all. I also don't recommend buying tickets from the internet unless they come from legitimate websites like billetreduc, etc.

Traveller1959 and Fuzzbucket, thank you both very much for the responses. I'll stop going to the Olympia's website and will instead try the box office on Wednesday and Thursday and maybe I'll get lucky and find a seat.

The more I thought about scalping a ticket the more I realized that anyone could print multiple copies of the same ticket and I'd have no way of knowing the ticket wasn't valid until I was turned away at the door.

thanks again.

www.songkick.com claims to have tickets for that concert, they are selling at about twice face value. the catch is you don't get details on pickup until you buy, it appears. It's really www.viagogo.com who is the reseller. Some even say it is instantly downloadable, not sure how that works. If you have to meet someone and they give you a real ticket, at least it should be more authentic than a piece of paper.

I think I'm going to play it safe and line up at the box office on the day of the concert. Maybe I'll get lucky!!

Pat - I think that's definitely the smartest move. Going the day before probably won't get you a seat, since the VIPs always hope somebody important will show up at the last minute. So I would get in line the day of the concert and cross your fingers. Good luck!

Often you find on Ebay people who want to sell their tickets because something has happened that prevents them from going to the concert.
