If you manage to score a table at Sambar, a teeny-tiny bar attached to French restaurant Le Gourmand, you probably won't leave for hours—there's nothing else like it in Seattle. Though it claims to have French flair, the only thing that cries corner café is its small size. The interior is modern in a way that would look pretentious and stark if translated into a bigger space. Excellent cocktails are mixed with panache and made with premium liquors—just try to walk a straight line out the door when you're done. A small menu offers delicious bites from Le Gourmand, from fresh salads to guilty pleasures like the croque monsieur and rich desserts. The crowd is mixed and different every night. A small patio adds some additional and highly coveted seating in summer.
