Six Flags Over Georgia

Fodor's Review:

Georgia's major theme park with heart-stopping roller coasters, family rides, and water attractions (best saved for last so you won't be damp all day), is a child's ideal playground. The new Goliath is a giant among roller coasters—at 200 feet, it's the largest in the Southeast. The heart-clenching ride hits speeds of 70 mph. The park also has well-staged musical revues, concerts by top-name artists, and costumed characters such as the Justice League. To get here, take MARTA's west line to the Hamilton Homes station and then hop aboard the Six Flags bus.

  • Cost: $29.99
  • Open: June-mid-Aug., open daily; mid-Aug.-Oct. and Mar.-May, open weekends; hrs vary
