Fodor's Review:

Many long years ago, the elegant Grande Colonial Hotel in the heart of La Jolla "village" housed a drug store owned by actor Gregory Peck's father. In the sleekly contemporary dining room that now occupies the space, acclaimed Chef Jason Knibb serves satisfying seasonal fare at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. At night the perfectly executed menu can take extravagant turns, as with the appetizers of Maine scallops with cauliflower custard, brown butter, and capers, or lobster risotto, and creative ones, as with the jerk pork belly with habanero gelee rice and sous vide salmon in an orange-olive oil emulsion. Delicious desserts include rosewater panna cotta with lychee raspberry sorbet.
