If you're flying to L.A., you can begin or end your trip with a stop by the dramatic Theme Building for a meal with a runway view. Designers from Walt Disney Imagineering whipped up the intergalactic atmosphere. Choices such as tuna tartare, Peking-style duck, and roasted chicken with a mustard cream sauce certainly beat airplane fare. The place, with its colorful, futuristic design and close encounters with rumbling 747s, is a delight for kids and kids-at-heart.

    Great prep for Trans-pacific flight

    When you tire of the airline lounge and want someplace more sophisticated and chic at LAX than Wolfgang Puck Pizza, Encounter may be your answer. It is ours- consider it kind of an adult getaway, with the space-age Muzak in the private elevators, the Phasers for mixers and the "Jetson" decor. We've spent many an hour there enjoying the martini menu prepping for flights to SYD or AKL- and always enjoy ouselves.
