Fodor's Review:

Tucked away on a street with dozens of bland competitors, and a couple of blocks from Sol, this hotel stands out for its price and quality. The rooms, though not especially big, are charming and far from the standard hostal fare. They're made unique by the brightly colored walls and bedspreads, and by the furniture and accessories collected over the years by the two friendly Argentine owners. The best of the lot has been wallpapered with some old María Callas pictures and the musical score from Tosca. In case it's fully booked note that the owners opened another small (10 rooms) and equally welcoming hostal(Adria Santa Ana) on nearby Nuñez de Arce street. Pros: Friendly service, great value, charming touches. Cons: Short on facilities.

It was my first visit to Madrid and I had the pleasure to stay at the Hotel Adriano for two nights in July. The staff were very courteous and one of the owners took painstaking time to map out the local museums and his favorite tapas bars for me. The room was clean and well decorated. The price was well worth the room. It was perfect!
