Hostal Adriano Review
Tucked away on a street with dozens of bland competitors a couple of blocks from Sol, this hotel stands out for its price and quality. The rooms, though not especially big, are charming and far from the standard hostal fare. They're thoughtfully decorated with bright-color walls and bedspreads and furniture and accessories collected over the years by the two friendly Argentine owners. The best of the lot has been wallpapered with some old María Callas pictures and the musical score from Tosca. In case it's fully booked, note that the owners have another small (10 rooms, 1 quadruple) and equally welcoming hostal (Adria Santa Ana), with no elevator, on nearby Nuñez de Arce 15.

I stayed with my 2 adult daughters for 3 nights at the Adria Santa Ana a few blocks from Adriano. The room was a triple and was beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, spacious, had a beautiful bathroom, big TV, and wonderful people at the front desk who carried our luggage up 3-4 flights and down again when we left. We had just come from a 5 star hotel in Segovia which didn't hold a candle to this charming, reasonably priced, wonderfully located Hostal Santa Ana (same owners of Adriano). Fabulou! I would absolutely highly recommend and I plan to stay there again.

It was my first visit to Madrid and I had the pleasure to stay at the Hotel Adriano for two nights in July. The staff were very courteous and one of the owners took painstaking time to map out the local museums and his favorite tapas bars for me. The room was clean and well decorated. The price was well worth the room. It was perfect!
