Gromada Dom Chlopa Review

With an excellent location in the center of Warsaw, this white five-story hotel was built during the late 1950s by the Gromada peasants' cooperative and originally had a plant-and-seed store on the ground floor. The hotel, which was renovated in 2000, offers clean and reasonably priced accommodations; rooms are rather small, but the colors are lively, and the bathrooms have been updated. There is no air-conditioning, though.

OK - the good news. This hotel has a great location. The eggs at breakfast were superb. But that's it - everything else is dreary, dull, a throwback to the commie days. My room was spacious with three single beds. Non of them was comfortable - I woke up with terrible back pain. Not sure what more to say - if you wantan authentic 1970's experience, then stay at the Gromada. Enjoy, but I certainly won't be returning there.
