A short drive from Montelupo, this osteria is well worth the detour—if you don't drive right past it by mistake. Its plain exterior—and interior, for that matter—belies the glories coming from the kitchen; the menu depends heavily upon seasonal ingredients, and it's a blessed event if you arrive during porcini season. Locals come to eat large portions of grilled meats and to drink the local wine; if you opt for their outstanding bistecca fiorentina, the tab might
jump to the next price category. The osteria has been in the hands of the BoNanni family since it opened in 1920, and ebullient service contributes to the sheer enjoyment of the meal.
