People travel for miles to eat at this buzzing contemporary restaurant in Killarney's town center. While set in an old town house, the vibe inside is cool and contemporary, as announced by the bar salon, with its polished wood floors, plain walls, and gorgeous white and brown cream leather chairs. Also beautifully presented are the nouvelle goodies that come parading out on huge square white platters or deep round bowls. The roast pork belly and salmon tartare, or the
gravlax with aspargus salad and wasabi dressing, are among the best starters. Top mains are both trad and hip, and include the roast turbot with grilled prawns and seaweed tapenade or the roast glazed rump of Kerry lamb with onion jam. All meat and dairy is Irish, and the seafood is predominantly local. Warning: few can resist the warm rhubarb crumble with caramel custard and candied ginger ice cream. Reduce costs by opting for a €27.50 or €37.50 prix-fixe menu.
