Terra Nova (New Town) Review

Stroll around Terra Nova, a maze of newer streets and houses at the base of the 15th-century fortress. Opposite to the old district of Terra Vecchia, the more modern quarter of the city is worth a promenade to see the Governor's Palace, Saint Croix church, and Sainte Marie cathedral. Climb the Escalier Romieu steps beside the leafy Jardins Romieu for a sweeping view of the Italian islands of Capraia, Elba, and Montecristo.
