Yankee Stadium
We will be staying at the Millenium UN Plaza at 1 United Nations Plaza and I would like to surprise my husband with a visit to Yankee Stadium and game. What would be the best way toget to the stadium from where we are staying? Thnak you for your assistance.

Hi Karen,
Another fun idea is to take the ferry from East 34th Street and the East River. You can get details at www.nywaterway.com (look under baseball cruises and then yankee clipper.) Have fun.

Are you coming in time for a game? Tickets are kind of easy to get at the box office for weekdays and check the Daily News for ticket specials on nights with sucky opponents; if I remember correctly, they had tickets for Tampa Bay games for $5.
If you get seats in the boonies, you can usually move up as the game goes on. Last year, I started in the upper deck, left field and by the 7th inning, sat right behind homeplate.
The surrounding area is pretty lively and fun also.

So Steve, you're the one I have to chase out of my seat when I get there late or get up to go to the bathroom.
Just wondering, if you paid for a seat in the Upper Deck or with the Bleacher Creatures, why do you feel entitled to sit in a better seat?
BTW Karen, if you have time during your stay, the Stadium does have tours. (Not sure when they start relative to game time.) They walk through Monument Park and on certain days, they'll take you into the dugouts. (Although, that part may not happen on game days.)

Hey Alex, get a life. Seating improvement is a long standing baseball tradition that EVERYBODY understands. Especially when half the stadium is empty. The ticket is a contract to get into the park, but is does not stipulate that you must remain in the assigned seat, row and section. Moving around is implicit as long as you aren't dislodging someone else. Ease Up!

Thanks for letting me know. Hey, next time I go to the Stadium I might as well crash George's private box. I mean, you say it's fine.
This opens up a whole new world of possibilities. Put a lowball bid on Priceline, then go sit in First Class. I might even go to Sparks, order a salad then demand a Porterhouse. Thanks for telling me that theft of services is ok, I mean as long as that theft is a "tradition."

you are aware baseball season starts in April right? If not, it starts in April. Go to a game though it is a great place to watch one and what better team to see play?! Unless the Bosox or Mets are in town tickets are usually relatively easy to come by, especially during the week.
