Best place to sit for a Blue Jays game?

Hello all,

I have never seen a baseball game, let alone sat in a ballpark and wonder where the best place to sit is? I've looked at the Blue Jays website but the seating plan means nothing to a novice like me!

My budget for watching a game at the Rogers Centre is about CAN$30.

Would you recommend I buy online before I fly or wait until the day of the game (probably Mon 4 Aug).

Also, how long does a game last?

Thanks!

I can't answer your question, but I will be following the replies. We will be in Toronto in July and want to see a Cleveland game on a Sunday afternoon so answers will be helpful to me too. We have been to other major league parks but never to the Rogers Center so know nothing about seating and price or ticket availability. Thanks and good luck!

Ideally, you want to be at field (100) level. I prefer to be on the first base side behind the dugout. However, these seats will go for more than your budget of $30.

As the game on Aug 4 is with Oakland, tickets are at regular prices. If you can manage $41 you can get a field level seat just beyond first base. If none are aavailable there, try the third base side. The outfield seats are cheap but further from the action. The 200 level is fine if you can get closer to home plate.

Enjoy the game!

I used to take my son to games, and we bouight the worst seats, and they were still not bad. We were far int eh outfield, so the whoole game unfolded in front of use, plus, in the cheap seats, there were television sets on which we saw closeups of interesting parts of the game.

The best seats are between home platese, but too expensive for you.

The higher you go, the lower the price but you lose seeing fcila expressions. On the other hand, there's more of a "tableau" sense, if you can understand what I'm getting at.

Better tickets sell first, so buying online has its advantages.

I'm not sure of scalper rules anyomore, but we went to one game whre we paid a woman half price, based on her explanation that some of a big family group had cancelled and she had extra tickets, and a few minutes later, seated in the seats we bought, we met the rest of her family, who had not cancelled.

Buy in advance; saves lines and if the ticket window is where I last saw it, it saves you some walking, too.

We used to share a seasons tickets and our seats were in the fourth row of the 500 level near home plate. It's a little high but I really loved those seats. I can follow the ball better from there than from the field level. The field level definitely puts you closer to the action, though, and that's always fun. I'd rather be closer in and higher up than past the bases but at field level. Just my preference.

The hotel looks out onto the field but at the far end. I don't know if they still do it, but you used to be able to go for a nice buffet lunch there during batting practice and then go to the game.
