Winter in VT or NH
We'll be in the mid-Atlantic/northeast in early January and the kids want to see some snow. Anyone recommend a resort, presumably in VT or NH, that has skiing, snowmobiling and tubing?

Not a specific resort but the White Mountains of NH offer all of this - we have a place in Jackson, NH a quaint little New England Village minutes from all these activities.
We don't rent out our house but the Wentworth Hotel has 2 & 3 bedroom condos with full kitchen and 2 1/2 baths and theres a bunch of B&B's/small hotels in the area.

Both Jackson and Smuggler's Notch are great recommendations. The main differnce is that Smuggler's Notch is more of a ski resort where as Jackson is a charming NE town.
Smugg's is famous for it's family friendly accomodations, activities and skier services. In addition to skiing & boarding, they have lots of activities for kids like a supervised indoor play area and such. Smuggs is THE family resort in the NE (and one of the best in the country).
Jackson is a quintessential New England town with great downhill skiing, cross country skiing, tubing, snow shoeing, ice skating, snow mobiling, etc. all nearby. In early Jan. the town may still be decorated for the holidays, which they do beautifully. Be sure and stop by Nesltenook Farm in the evening for ice skating, bonfires & sleigh rides. The kids will love it!
