Which Tour?? - Only 1 Day in Key West

Hello.

We have only one day in Key West. We are spending the night before and then heading back to Ft. Lauderdale. This will be our first visit. What should we do? Which tour would you recommend? Which restaurant should we not miss. I love Key Lime Pie-who has the best? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Take the conch tour (don't know what other tours there are) and you will get the lay of the land as the island is small, and you will get lots of history from the tour operators. I like Camille's for key lime pie. The pie is as easy as pie (haha) it's the crust that's the kicker. You have so little time. Key West to FLL will take you at least 4 hrs. driving, maybe more if traffic is bad.

Without a doubt, take the Conch Tour Train.

Another Key West tradition is a pub crawl along Duval Street.

For Dining

Key West Experience, OK Food, High Price: Louies Backyard

KW Experience, OK Food, Reasonable Price: Conch Republic

KW Exp, cheap food and price: Sloppy Joes

KWChain: Margaritaville

Excellent food, not KW Exp,high price: Marquesa restaurant
Seven Fish
Alices

Breakfast
KW Experience : Blue Heaven

Lunch
KW Exp: Half Shell Raw Bar
El Siboney (Cuban)

I would say that if you have the time, and the bucks, you should try Louies at least once for a sunset seating... even though they think they're special and the staff can be difficult.... if not go there for a sunset drink before your dinner, its pretty.

I second the counch tour and Mallory Square for sunset celebration. I believe it starts at 6 pm. Also, we enjoyed just walking Duval Street and the Marina area. If it were me, with time being so short, I would eat at Sloppy Joes as I think it would be faster and less time consumming.
