Which is farther--Healdsburg or Hearst Castle?

Which is farther--Healdsburg or Hearst Castle?
I'm planning a weekend trip and would like to know which takes longer to get to from the East Bay--Healdsburg or Hearst Castle? How many hours does it take to go to Healdsburg and how many to Hearst? And how many hours is Hearst from Carmel? Thank you!

Hi again Anne,
I can only absolutely answer the question East Bay to Healdsburg. It probably will take you 1 1/2 hours allowing for slow traffic through Santa Rosa. It's essentially a straight shot North on 101 after you cross the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. Hearst Castle is significantly more distance. My guess on the castle is 5-6 hours. It takes about 2 1/2 hours to reach Carmel from the East Bay.Allow for increased time if you pass through San Jose during am or pm rush hour.(Try to avoid these times) Just doing simple math I would guess it's another 2-3 hours to Hearst Castle.
Other folks with more absolute ideas about travel time to San Simeon might be able to recommend traffic routes as well to cut down on travel time, Where have you decided to stay in Healdsburg?

Thanks a lot, Pam. Boy, you are really helpful. I had a feeling that Hearst took much longer to get to than Healdsburg, but wanted confirmation. Now it's settled--Healdsburg definitely for that anniversary trip.
As far as the B&B is concerned, I haven't made up my mind yet, but am leaning toward the Honor Mansion, especially after looking at the website and after you mentioned that it seemed more luxurious than Camellia Inn. The only thing is I haven't had any personal input from anybody who's stayed there, so I'm waiting a little to see what feedback I'd get. Camellia Inn was my first choice (when my budget for the trip was a lot smaller at first), but now that we've decided to spend a little more money, I'm leaning toward something somewhat more luxurious. So bottom line is, I haven't made my decision yet.
