What should I pack to wear on a trip this week in WDW? My husband and I (in our 20s) are going without kids and are planning on having a nice time, having nice dinners and so forth...don't want to over pack. Want to take appropriate clothes both for parks and for going out. Is everything really very casual other than the fine dining places like Victoria and Albert or California Grill?

WDW is a very casual place, and even at the nice restaurants (except V&A), you will see people dressed in the clothes they wore at the parks that day (jeans, shorts, t-shirts, etc.). Wear what you are comfortable wearing and definitely pack shoes you can walk in for the parks.
Check the weather for Florida. I believe that they will be getting some cooler weather there this week. We were there last Feb. and we had a couple of 80 degree days and a couple of 60 degree days with wind. It is not pleasant walking around WDW if you are not properly dressed. Everything is very casual - with the exception of Victoria's and Albert's. I love Disney. Have a great time!
We always dress up for California Grill, not b/c we have to, i.e. plenty of people there in "park gear".....but b/c for us it makes it more of an occasion, esp since it usually runs us in the ~$300 range for 3 adults. Somehow it would seem less special if we were in shorts and T-shirts!
For the better restaurants (Artist Point, California Grill, Victoria & Albert's and perhaps a few others), I would not wear T-shirts, shorts, fanny packs and flip flops. I know it's sometimes done (and tactfully overlooked by the restaurants) but these are rather clueless people IMO.
Mouse Ears ??
Hope you have dinner reservations already for California Grill, hard to get a table last minute. I found casual rules at WDW. A nice pair of black or tan pants can easily be dressed up for dinner.
Jeans, shorts, and good walking shoes are must for daytime, with a light jacket in case it's cool.
Have a great time!
Note that we're getting the coldest weather of the season this weekend. Orlando will have a high of about 60, low around 39.
All great tips....the weather is cooler this time of year....
Between the hours of 10am/11am to 2pm/3pm the weather will be nice, will not need a coat, can wear shorts.......can most likly go swimming...
But.....
You will need a jacket & long pants for evening...gets very cool..
Hope this helps....Have a great time.......
California Grill has declined in quality/creativity lately. Try Citrico's at the Grand Floridian.
Most important: wear comfortable, broken-in shoes. As others have said, WDW is very casual, as a general rule, I'd wouldn't wear shorts/t-shirts to Disney's better restaurants. And it will definitely be too cold right now!
Agree with the others that while park gear is okay, you'll be more comfortable if not in shorts, t-shirt and tevas.
Also bring more than one pair of shoes for walking. I made the mistake one year of only bringing one pair of shoes to serve all purposes for a 5 day trip. Even though the footwear was appropriate, my feet were aching for something else to put on after a few days.
Definitely pack tennis shoes and sunscreen. If you go on water rides, bring change of clothes. I like sundresses and flip flops..that works at any restaurant!
Hi cindy, acadia visited DW this last January.
