Try Waikikilive.com
This is an awesome sight! You get streaming video of Waikiki Beach. Usually it's aimed at the area in front of the Royal Hawaiian and it has sound too. We watch the sun rise and set upon Waikiki on weekends through this site. We can tell when tourism is up or down and even watch the weather over there this way. We are Hawaii junkies and love the live web cams in different parts of the islands.
Another site we watch is the live video in front of the Duke Kahanamoku statue. We are going to be there next week and when we call my husbands parents on his cell phone they are going to be on the site so it's sort of like video conferencing only we can't see them. We can wave to them while we are talking to them. How wild is that?!

Gail,
It always makes me want to jump right into the picture to be there. Well, as of Sunday I won't have to feel that way because I will be there. At 2:00 PM eastern time on Monday we will be standing there talking to my in-laws while they are viewing us on their screen at home. Really though, when I am feeling down and need a lift I go to this sight. It always lifts my spirits.

We are now back from Hawaii and had a wonderful trip. Our plan to have my in-laws see us while we were talking to them worked. They were thrilled to be able to see us 5,300 miles from home. We saw other people doing the same thing and others who thought we were on drugs waving to the light post but when we explained what we were doing they too started doing this. It was a lot of fun. Try it next time you go.
