The Riverside??? Best Hotel b4 boarding cruise in Ft. Lauderdale
We (boyfriend and I) need to book a last-minute hotel to spend all day Friday and some of Saturday at before leaving on a cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale on Saturday afternoon. We WELCOME suggestions from the locals that will allow us to frolic in the sun/beach without being too far from the port.
AS LUCK WOULD HAVE IT, one of today's Groupon/Expedia Deals is at a Ft. Lauderdale HOtel called the RIVERSIDE HOTEL for a rate of $95 with only a "limited" number of rooms available at that price. The rooms are huge and the place looks swank. I am almost afraid not to book it asap. However, I have not researched (and have to leave for class shortly) if it is anywhere near the port and whether it is half as nice as it sounds. If there is a place much closer to the port that is on par with the RIVERSIDE, I'd hate to book it and have an outrageous cab fare to the port for naught.
HELP!!!
Much thanks, Hoosiers

We stayed for 2 nights a couple of years ago pre cruise. Quirky hotel, clean and a nice restaurant. Prime location on Las Olas but was empty and far from the beach. We stayed at the Marriott Courtyard right on the beach, much better choice. It included breakfast, welcom drink and a van to the pier. Both are close to the pier a 10 minute taxi ride. The rate you got is great and for that price I'd book it but first check the prices at the Courtyard.

Hi Mariff, there are many choices of hotels in Fort Lauderdale. The Riverside Hotel has the best location, as it is located right on Las Olas Boulevard and everything would be within walking distance. You have shops, restaurants and bars nearby. Their hotel has excellent service and just go onto trip advisor and see for yourself. The Groupon deal is a steal for this four star property. Also, if you would like to go to the beach, hop onto the trolley or take a water taxi...cool experiences. Enjoy the hotel!

The Riverside is in a great location for Las Olas, restaurants and bars.
However, it's quite far from the beach (too far to walk). I think there's a shuttle on Las Olas to the beach. bout 15 minutes.
If you don't have a car then you'll have to take a taxi to from the hotel.
The hotel is very nice and some excellent restaurants within minutes walk.
