Thanksgiving in San Diego

We will be ending our cruise on Thanksgiving Day in San Diego. Trying to choose a restaurant for dinner. Looking at Island Prime, Mr A's or Hotel Del as possibilities. They are all pretty pricey, especially the Del. Any advice on these restaurants or suggestions for others? Thanks!

All three are very good and Mr. A's and Island Prime both have great views (one a look down panoramara and the other - right on the water) - while the venerable Hotel Del is a view unto itself as is driving over the Coronado Bridge

Will check back after retuning from Cabo and see if you have further Q's.

The Coronado Boathouse might have a less expensive menu. I tried to find their holiday menu information on their web site, but it may not be posted yet. We've eaten their a couple of times and find the food excellent and the view of Glorietta Bay and the San Diego Skyline beautiful. After dinner or lunch you can easily walk around Coronado, go to their many parks or beach, or window shop around town.

My choice would be the Hotel Del.

It's Thanksgiving, everything will be overpriced.

You'll probably have a better experience at the Del Cornonada.

Expect warm weather.

Thanks everyone! We've decided on the Hotel Del. We will also be celebrating our anniversary the same day! And the next day our nephew is getting married at one of the wineries, so lots of celebrating before we come home to NC. Happy Thanksgiving (a little early) to all of you!

Nanabee-thanks for the recommendation for Coronado Boathouse. I called them and spoke with Erin. She told me that their menu will be posted after Halloween. She also read the menu to me. Very helpful and friendly. Hopefully we will make it there at some point.

Yes, you might go over for brunch, or early drinks, it's lovely. The Del will be wonderful you but you will not have a view if you are in the Crown Room. (Which of all the restaurants in the Del, that is still my favorite.) I think you will have a wonderful day.

If you have time, you might want to wander over to Hollands Bike Shop (near corner of 10th & Orange) and rent bikes. Coronado is such a great place to walk & or bike. You can bike all over the island and it is so enjoyable - much nicer than driving around. You can pack a lunch and stop and any of the many parks - or the beach. It's also fun to go to the end of the North Beach right where the naval base back gate is - you can watch the jets land and kick around balls or just relax. That's where many local hang out.
