Thanksgiving Getaway close to NYC for family?

Hello fodorites...I'm looking for a place where our family can go to have a night or two away and have Thanksgiving dinner together. Prefer a place that serves Thanksgiving dinner (we don't want to cook so hotel or an inn) and might have some nearby activities for a 15 year old and a 9 year old. We may be a group of 10. Individual rooms are okay. Any suggestions? We prefer not to spend more that $250 a night on a room if that's possible.

Thank you.

I'd look at the Hudson Valley.

The rooms in Inns are generally for 2 people only - ad I know some don;t allow children - so you need to consider that.

Also - you need to investigate a place with dining nearby open on Thanksgiving. Also - for so many people - assume you will need 5 rooms - so that may eliminate smaller inns.

Sorry not to have specific suggestions - but I would start searching now looking at those specific parameters

I'd certainly concentrate on destinations in the Hudson Valley, which can be quite beautiful still around Thanksgiving. There are some good restaurants in Hudson and vicinity. Chatham is a beautiful little town.

I suspect Mohonk is too expensive.

Sadly, I think Mohonk would be much more than double the $250 budget (though, granted, that includes meals), though it would be entirely and perfectly suitable.
