Need NYC Thanksgiving Day Buffet Recommendations.
Hi All,
We're looking for recommendations for a Thanksgiving Day buffet which has enough selections for vegetarians.
Last Thanksgiving we did in NYC was about 5 years ago at the Waldorf Astoria. We could go there again, but since it's been a few years there may be newer/better options we don't know about. Good service, reasonably wide selection of veg. items, and good food are more important than price.
Thank you.

Buffets are not common in NYC and not generally recommended. They're usually found at hotels. Both the Tribeca Grand and the Soho Grand evidently have T'giving buffets but neither hotel is known for great food as far as I know.
Candle 79 is one of the nicest vegetarian restaurants in the city.

As Mclaurie says, buffets are not so easy to find in New York City - but for Thanksgiving dining, hare's a link to last year's New York Magazine list for Thanksgiving dining:

I think you'll find on Thanksgiving many restaurants have specific seating times and limited menus.
If vegetarian is important you might do better at an ethnic place - but then it's not a traditinal Thanksgiving dinner.
Agree NYC has very few buffets - we prefer our food fresh to steam table.
You might look at menupages.com to see if any restuarants featuring Thanksgiving dinner have vegetarian options - or if the vegetarian places have choices you would all enjoy.
