Taxi cab fare from Newark to NYC

I am planning to take a cab from newark airport to my hotel near times square. I was wondering how much it could cost me (approximately). I know it's meter rate + $15 surcharge (is this charged FROM newark airport too or only TO newark airport?). So that would be, meter + surcharge + tolls + tips. I will be arriving on a sunday so that could make traffic to nyc different. Please help me..

I don't know what the taxi fare is, but why don't you consider the CoachUSA / Olympia bus from EWR to Manhattan for $15 1way / $25 roundtrip?

Tammy, why take a metered taxi when you can take a fixed-price car service?

I already responded on another thread, but will post again to warn you: I just paid $80 with tip for this trip, from the airport to midtown (midtown east in my case). And in case you think I am a clueless tourist, think again: I live here! This was on a light traffic day.

Do yourself a favor and book a car service!

If you go to the web sites of carmel of Dial 7 you will usually be able to get a coupon for something off the usual airport flat rate. Unlike JFK or LGA a car service usually makes sense from EWR.
