Sunrise in Yosemite
We plan on getting a very early jump on things while in Yosemite and wondered if anyone has a suggestion for a sunrise location. I would guess that just about anyplace would be breathtaking, but having a spot in mind would help. Thanks in advance.

What time of year will help the answers, as the sun rises at differing angles... However, the hike to Half Dome can be done in time for sunrise.
Or, Glacier Point by car.

OK - do you mean in the valley? It is at the bottom of a steep valley - sunrises aren't really spectacular since by the time the sun hits the valley floor it is pretty late. Or do you mean somewhere else in the park?

Yeah, in the valley it just sort of gets light I do like the early mornings in the valley though as everything wakes up, esspecially by the river. Very peaceful and relaxing. The sun glinting off Half Dome is pretty neat too. Not breathtaking, but nice.

Since a Half Dome hike is out of the cards for us on a two day visit I'm going to shoot for one of the other suggestions. We're staying in Curry Village in July for two nights - I've heard that Mirror Lake is a good option and was wondering if Sentinel Dome would be a possibility? Thanks everyone.
