Yosemite wildfires
Any containment on the Meadow fire yet? Is Glacier Point Road and many hiking trails still closed? We will be staying at Yosemite West in about a week and a half and hope our visit to the park doesn't get smoked out like it did a couple years ago at Rocky National Park.

Go to nps.gov/fire. They have updates on the status of the fire. Last I heard the road to Glacier Point is still closed above a certain point. Hope it works out for you. We were there a few weeks ago and loved it. Hope to get our trip report posted this weekend.

According to the SF Chronicle Glacier Pt. Rd. is closed. the trail to Half Dome and Little Yosemite Valley are also closed, as is the Four Mile trail from the valley floor to Glacier Pt. I guess there is quite a lot of smoke and ash in the valley, but the humidity has risen which has helped a little.

We have a trip to Yosemite planned in the spring. It should be interesting to see the early forest regeneration after this fire. Although the fire makes it tough on people visiting the park this summer, I am glad to learn that the fire was started by lightning rather than careless people.
