St. Pete FL activities
Hi!
We just docked our boat here in downtown St. Pete for a few weeks, and was wondering what activities there are to do that are relatively inexpensive and that we can walk to or use public transportation. We do have access to a car, if necessary, but prefer not to use it. We're game for anything. Thanks!

If you are at the Harborage, the Dali Museum, one of the best in the Tampa Bay area, is right outside the gate. If you are in St Pete Municipal, it's walking distance just south of you. Also visit Fl International Museum. The Dali is my favorite. Do take the guided tour to get as much as possible out of it.
I'm sure you've found the pier by now--stroll and people watch--eat at Columbia Restaurant (spanish). Also look for Baywalk a bit north of the Pier and across the street--mixture of dining, shops, entertainment. Have a drink on the veranda of the Vinoy.
You are going to be amazed at downtown St Pete. Aside from the Pier and Baywalk, it just about closes up. Last weekend as we drove in my husband commented that it was as if someone had evacuated the town!.
You may have seen enough water, but take a drive over to St Pete Beach the day you are using the car.
You may have already found this as you've posted this question, but there is internet access at the USF library very close to the Harborage.

Bob, I live here and love the new trolley system. You can pick one up on Central Avenue, ride it east all the way to Treasure Island. Get off at the Thunderbird Motel and have lunch or dinner at Karim's Bistro (or do this on the way back) - you can dine inside or out, fabulous Moroccan food. Then hop back on and go either south to St. Pete Beach, or north all the way to Clearwater Beach. You could barhop this way too if you're so inclined. My husband and I live here and talk about spending a day riding that trolley...now to find the time!
