Seattle-Grand Hyatt or Sheraton, Day Tours of Seattle, July Weather?
Hi, trying to decide between these two hotels for a 2 night pre cruise stay in Seattle in July.
The Grand Hyatt Seattle or Sheraton on 6th Ave. Want to be close to Pike Market and in a safe area to walk around at night. This is my first visit to Seattle.
I would like to take a day tour of the city. Any recommendations of tours I can book that will cover alot in 1 day?
What temperatures and weather can I expect in mid July in Seattle?
Thanks!

Our best summer weather is from just after July 4 through August. It should be sunny, warm, and dry.
The Grand Hyatt and Sheraton are both located in the heart of the retail core--shops, restaurants, theaters, jazz venues, etc. The Sheraton has an old tower and a new tower. My choice would be the Grand Hyatt.
Land tours are offered by graylineseattle.com and ridetheduckofseattle.com, and argosycruises.com offers a variety of water tours.

I believe the Hyatt is considered the nicer of those two hotels. July weather should be nice, hopefully. Usually it clears up after a rainy 4th of July!
There are lots of tour companies. Grayline is a good company. There are also walkng tours available like with Savor Seattle or See Seattle.

We are also researching for our first trip Seattle/Alaska cruise in September. We decided on this tour company for 2 of our tours: http://www.toursnorthwest.com/ We are doing the 3 hour bus tour and the 10 hour Mt. Rainer tour. We are actually staying 4 nights. 3 before the cruise and 1 after. Our other choices include a 3 hour walking Savor Seattle gourmet food tour, the Space Needle and the Underground tour. We are also looking at one of the dinner cruises and maybe checking out a comedy club.
I did a google search for "tours in Seattle" and gots lots of info.

As far as I know, walking around Seattle at night is still pretty safe. I'd watch dark alleys, but that is what I like about the city..lots of big city stuff, and not much crime. I second the Mt. Rainer idea...It can be a total drag if it is socked in...ask me how I know.?
