Scottsdale Princess

My husband and I are going to Scottsdale in June, traveling our 12 yo daughter and 14 yo son. We are booked at the Princess, but I am second guessing about this. Can anyone share their experiences and recommendations? A great pool is very important as is location to points of interest.
Also important are the rooms. How nice are they, and is it peaceful and quiet, or noisy? Any suggestions as to what type of room to request?
Thanks for your help!

What is making you second guess your decision? Have you looked at the hotels reviews on tripadvisor and expedia?

I haven't stayed there but a friend raves about it. She loved the lavender scented misting system at the pool to keep her cool in the hot AZ sun. She also thought the hotel restaurants were above par.

The website looks as though it is highly geared for conventions, and I don't want to be stuck there with several conventions going on Also, I can't get a good look at the pool. The Tripadvisor reviews are very good, but I can't seem to get details on that pool!

Expedia usually has good pics, you might want to look there to see if you can find pool pics. I hear ya about convention traffic. You're likely to get that at any of the large Scottsdale area resorts. You might want to look for someplace smaller. Sanctuary on Camelback is small, has individual casitas and a great infinity pool with a great view of Camelback. Its a pricey hotel but I did find some June rates at $225 on either Orbitz or Expedia. The hotel's own website had prices starting in the $400s for that time of year...

Maybe 'cause they have 4 pools and a water slide.

Do a search on the Tripadvisor forum. Interesting comments. It seems the JW Marriott has a better waterslide but has 4 pools as well.

I'd keep my res at the Princess!

Disregard my comments about Sanctuary. Not a place for kids really. Better saved for a romantic interlude.

Be aware that you will need a car, there is nothing within walking distance. the hotel itself is beautiful, and there aren't many conventions in june in AZ. This is a five star hotel, noise, i don't think so.

Well, maybe not conventions but my industry always goes to AZ or FL in the summer for national sales meetings - because of the low, low rates.

BUT, we are in meetings all day while you and your kids are enjoying yourself at the pools. Shouldn't be a problem at all.

The Princess if lovely.

Can't remember which one, but in the summer they have "pool movies" and show a movie on a big screen and you can watch from the water. Lots of fun!

WE had a convention at the Princess couple of yrs ago in summer. Thought it was terrific place. Had no kids with us but saw plenty of them having a great time. Two pool areas, the big one where they have a movie at night and I think a separate children's area with water slides and the like.
Our room was fine, everyone courteous and efficient, and the Mexican restaurant (La Hacienda?) outstanding.
If you have a car, lots of places to explore from this area.

Stayed there last year in April w/100-person group. Place is phenomenal! Pools and slide are awesome, abutts TPC if you're golfers (play early in June), food was tremendous, service is pretty close to 5-star. Should not be many, if any, conferences in June - too warm. We had pool view room and it was quiet.
