San Francisco Wine Tour Suggestion
Hello,
My husband & I will be spending 4 days in San Fran and we'd like to do a wine tour of the Sonoma/Napa region. I've searched online but there are so many tours I just don't know which companies are reputable. Can anyone give me suggestions? This is our first mini trip since having a baby and I want it to be really fun.

How much time will you have outside of your SF time?
No matter, you can spen one day in Sonoma and one day in Napa. You will "hit" aprox. 4 to 5 wineries per region. I would so to Napa first to get the touristy parts out of the way. I would save Sonoma for the second day to get the real down to earth experience.
Rent a car and get a map of WINERIES per region. Selwct the ones that appeal to you and then go for it.
If you like wine then you have at least a dozen names of wineries on the tip of your tongue.
Our wineries in Sonoma and in Napa are like the Smithsonians...you can never see them all in full no matter what! This is a good thing for those of us who live near the wine country...
Pace yourself...the driving is much easier than the drinking!!!
A tour is restrictive and you need the freedom to go with the (wine) flow!
If you bring babe then your own car makes twice as much sense.
Summers can be warm and if you are bringing baby you may do well to pack a picnic both days.
Lunch spots are plentiful BUT folks do not like "new-born" with their very pricey/romantic lunch in either wine regions.

Here's a great website for wineries/maps in Sonoma. http://www.wineroad.com
We went north of Sonoma to Healdsburg and did the Dry Creek and Russian River Valley. Healdsburg is a wonderful town.
Have fun tasting and sipping, but if you want to buy, go to the Safeway in Healdsburg and buy your wine.
The first winery we tasted at was Clos du Bois. Cost $5 (all the others were free) but got a nice engraved red wine glass to take home. Bought a Pinot Noir for $21. Later found the same wine in Safeway for $13 & change, and found out when we got back to NJ could get it for $17 & change.
Having said that, not all wineries sell to the local stores/restaurants. The Pezzi King winery had some great Zin's that I couldn't find elsewhere.

We've planned to spend one day outside of SF. Even though I'm not crazy about tours my husband & I don't want to drive since we'll be drinking. So... that leaves us back to planned tours. Any suggestions on planned tours? Our baby is not coming with us. This is our first trip without our little bambino.
