San Antonio-distance from Riverwalk to Alamodome

Will be in SA for the Alamo Bowl-Go Pokes! It appears the Alamodome is about a mile from the Riverwalk. If the weather is good, is it reasonable to assume we could walk (staying at Contessa)? Is the area between the two safe, especially later that night after the game? I'm aware the Alamodome is on the east side of I-35.

Thanks and Happy New Year!

Yes, you can walk from Alamodome to the Riverwalk. You will be in a crowd of many thousands making the same trek.

I've taken that walk a few times and you will be fine. I love SA, especially at this time of year. I hope you will enjoy your trip.

Worked out perfectly-you were right. There were thousands making the same walk-very convenient. The Riverwalk at Christmas time is beautiful! Great weather -upper 60s to low 70s.
