Royal Grove Hotel, Waikiki

New post ,
Couple 60 and 62 years old from Nova Scotia, Canada

1. How Clean is this hotel and rooms?
2. Will we need Air Conditioning in December?
3. Any info from someone who stayed there would be appreciated.
Thankyou
Warren

There are many many reviews on this hotel on tripadvisor.com. You might want air conditioning no matter the weather in order to shut noise out and any mustiness from the rainy seasons.

I would want air conditioning (for noise considerations as mentioned). The rooms at Royal Grove that are cheaper & don't have AC are a building that faces a very busy street. I have not stayed there yet (but plan to) but I would get one of the nicer category of rooms. I've walked by the hotel and it is in a very good location close to the beach. If you want to stay there you need to reserve early, it's very popular.

Thanks for the info and tripadvisor.com was helpfull. I booked a room for a week. I spoke to Debbie and she advised she had a room overlooking the pool which would have less traffic noise.
Now I am reading up on The Big Island because we are going there for the second week so will be back with more questions on that later.
Thanks again for the help.

Keep Tuesday night open while at the Grove that's music night and if you play guitar or ukelele or if you hula you can join in.

Check out the Hale Kona Kai on the Big Island or the Royal Kona Resort next door.
