Raining in Oahu?
We will be in oahu in a couple of weeks (11th to 16th october) - at the moment the weather forecast is showing that it might rain
wondering if people had suggestions for things to do if its raining in oahu? most of the things we had planned involved being outside !

When it rains, it is mostly in the mountains and on the Windward (east) side.
So you'll be OK.
Lots to do on Oahu:

When it rains it passes rather quickly anyway. Heck I have laid on Waikiki Beach through rain showers. It so warm just jump in the water and you will not even know its raining. You will be fine. Been to OAhu at least 15 times. Had all kinds of weather but the rain never became a issue in anytime of year.

Thanks for the replies - I thought the rain was going to ruin our trip but I guess its not as big a problem as i first thought
We have already planned to go to the PCC - I have also been looking at doing a submarine tour (http://www.atlantisadventures.com) but it does seem expensive at $75 for a 1 hour tour - can anyone who has been on the tour let me know if they think its worth the money?
we are staying at a condo in Laie Point for 3 days and have 3 days in Waikiki
thanks

My family and I sailed on the Atlantis submarine in Oahu. Personally I did not think it was worth the money. It was fun to sail on an actual sub, but the scenery was just OK.
We also took a Dolphin/Turlte Snorkle Cruise. It was fabulous. We swam with wild dolphins and snorkeled with green sea turtles. Staffed with biologists that tell you all about the animals and ocean. We even saw a baby dolphin. Biologist explained it was less than 48 hours old as you could still see wrinkles and marks from being born. What a sight. Well worth the $95 per person. You can check them out at www.sailhawaii.com
Don't worry about the rain. The rain is usually fast moving and brief. Besides, it is what keeps Hawaii tropical! You will have a great time.

We have now returned from our trip
Unfortunately it rained a lot for 1 whole day and about half the next day and then there was a 6.7 scale earthquake to top it all off and the whole island had no electricity!
i guess we were there at the worst time! was still a good trip tho - will write a report if i get the chance

Yes, we know people who were there as well...guess you never know...we just returned Sept 20th after two glorious weeks...hope you still had a nice vacation.
And just for the record...we LOVED everything in Hawaii EXCEPT the Polynesian Cultural Center. That was our worst day there...

Aloha roodboy, please do post a T.R.
Did you attempt to head west to the southern, leeward coast to avoid , our limited experience has found Ko`Olina area to have better weather if raining elsewhere.

yee gads, sorry about the rain on your vacation, but who would have expected an earthquake?!? thankfully people were not hurt in this one.
For anyone else looking for an answer to the original question, my ideas are:
Iolani Palace
Bishop Museum
ShangriLa Estate tour
Honolulu Academy of the Arts
