Pocono summer house rental
We are looking to rent a house in the Poconos for July, but we aren’t familiar with the various towns listed at sites such as VRBO.
Does anyone know anything about the Towamsensing Trails development in Albrightsville? We are looking for toddler friendly town (playgrounds, other kids, etc) that has at least a little natural beauty and is not too far from shopping and dining options.
Thanks,
Matt

Find a realtor in Blakeslee. Very nice area with a great lake, 2 pools, mini-golf. In the Poconos its a good idea to bring food in to bbq, but their a few good restaurants out on rt 940. Try to get a newer house near the lake or pool. There are playgrounds near the lakes and pools. The name of the community is Arrowhead Lakes.

Lake Naomi (1 1/2 from NYC) is a beautiful residential lake resort community with nice rental homes.
plenty of activities for kids, 2 olympic sized swimming pools, basketball, tennnis, etc.
Also, Timber Trails is an upscale resort community next to Lake Naomi.
do a web search for Lake Naomi and
Pocono Pines Realty.

SusieQQ, sure it isn't that far, but don't you think that if was practical for me to do so I would?
Our daughter has about 2 hour patience for car rides (really just an hour plus a one hour nap!), so an hour and half driving out there, then a whole day in the car driving around to look at towns, and then an hour and half back wouldn't be my idea of a good time.
I'm sure you meant to be helpful, but do you tell someone who asks you if its cold outside to (after you just walked in from outside) "go out and find out for yourself"?

The Poconos are a wonderful place for kids. There are a number of areas with children's activities.
You should avoid the Lake Naomi area however since the Association that governs it has a policy to slaughter deer. It baits and then slaughters them in February and March. As a result, there is very little wildlife to watch.
You may want to consider the Big Boulder area near Blakeslee. It has organized activities for children and there are restaurants and shopping nearby.

Matty, it sounds like you need a nap. SusieQQ was giving you good advice. How was she to know you have a toddler who hates car rides? We've all been there. Why don't you get a babysitter for the day, or just go yourself. If your temper is that short with your wife, she'll be glad to have you gone all day.

LHG you're reading my mind.
Matty, when you come here asking for advice that's what you're getting. Not mind readers. Why don't you use the edit button in your mind before blasting people who are genuinely trying to help you.
When rentals are within reasonable driving distance it is ALWAYS the best idea to go check them out in person so you know what you are committing your money and your valuable vacation time to in advance.
At least we can tell where your cranky toddler gets it from. Yikes.

avoid the iffyness of renting from owners and go to Woodloch Pines. they ahve a golf course community about 1 mile from the main resort and you can rent beautiful homes there, but still use the resorts facilities, as if you were staying in the hotel rooms. you can opt to do some or all meals at the resort, so you could have the flexibility of breakfast/snacks in the house, but lunch at the lake, and dinner in the main dining room.
