Passport question

Hi All,

We are planning to take our 2.5 year old to her first foreign trip in the spring 2003, and having several questions about her passport.
1. How often will her passport need to be changed at such young age?
2. How long does it take nowadays to receive a new passport?

Thank you.
Regards,
Vince.

Under 16 passports are only good for 5 years. The official time it takes to get a passport is 6-8 weeks but I got a renewal back in 1 1/2 weeks and my husband got his first one in the same time. I would plan on the 6-8 weeks unless you want to pay extra to expedite it.
