Outside of Vegas Resort that is Child-friendly?

Normally I wouldn't consider going to Vegas with a child but have read about resorts outside the area in Henderson. The idea of going to a resort as a family yet being able to leave our child who is 9 in a camp program while we go into Vegas is appealing. The Hyatt sounds perfect? How does it compare to the Ritz - I couldn't tell if the Ritz has a children's program from their site? How do the two resort compare in general? Also looked up the Green Valley Ranch but that looks like it doesn't cater to children at all. We tend to like casual elegant hotels - nothing stuffy and gilded. Please give feedback on recent stays? P.S. Uusally 4 Seaaons cater to children but the one in Vegas seems to only provide babysitting?

Kids love the Hyatt Lake Las Vegas but it is about a 40 min drive from the strip.

Clark- good suggestion. I didn't think about it until I read your post. We spent a night out there, and the place is very kid friendly! There's 2 pools- one that's specified for families. There's also paddle boats and other day activities. I don't have kids, so I don't know if they have a camp, but I do remember a lot of families with kids around that age.

IMO, Lake Las Vegas is one of the nicest places to stay around Vegas. Even though we only stayed one night, it was completly magical! They have a huge outdoor patio complete with fireplaces in case it's chilly. The rooms, and the view, was awesome. I'd definitely put it in the category of casual elegance.

I stayed at the Hyatt last year during a conference and then longer through the weekend for some relaxation. At the time, it was the only resort in Henderson on Priceline so we got quite a deal on our extended weekend. It's quiet, evry nice and I do believe there were plenty for kids, pool-wise. Not sure about a kids program though, as we left ours behind! I believe they have a website.

We spent one night there in OCT and will be staying there again when we go to Vegas, no matter how far away it is! It was such a beautiful, relaxing place to end our trip away from the wild hustle. Even if we had to ride back & forth it would be worth it, this was not stuffy at all! Gorgeous terrace with fireplaces to enjoy the dusk. Uncrowded pools(though I can't say we saw alot of kids, so double check for the CAMP)..Also the new MONTE LAGO village is partially opened and fun to walk around. Magical is the word as in PARADISE!
