I sure hope you/we find one.
There are wonderful things in Oklahoma City (art museum, cowboy museum) but we haven't had much luck finding good places to eat and/or scenes when we have visited relatives.

The only thing by Coles Garden is a mediocre barbeque joint, County Line.
If you want a nice, semi-casual, dining experience near Coles Garden I highly recommend The Metro. It would be about 10-15 minutes to the event at the Garden. (No patio but the food is excellent.) You'll see jeans and sport coats to suits. Mostly the casual side unless there is an event.
Between Penn Square Mall and downtown are many restaurants along Western Avenue. In the downtown area are nice places. We like Museum Cafe for a nice dinner and atmosphere (patio, too). Just before downtown you can dine at a small cafe called Cheever's. It's an old flower shop that is a popular dining spot with a few tables out front.
Red Prime is in the downtown area and a popular spot. Steakhouse and wine spot. Very good but no real patio except for cocktails in front of the restaurant.

The hot new area is Midtown around 13th and Walker. This is up the street from The Museum Cafe and considered part of the downtown area. Stella's is a new modern Italian restaurant but none of these have patios with a view.
If you want a touristy area go to Bricktown. You can dine at TexMex, Italian and other spots along the canal. The food isn't that great but visitors seem to like it.
Also, in Bricktown are a few nice dining spots -- The Mantel, Mickey Mantle's and Nonna's.
If you want a nice patio dining experience you can't beat dining at Red Rock Grill at Lake Hefner. It sits on the lake and has a great view of the water and sunset. The food is good and portions are large. It's a nice spot inside or out.

Thanks for your help. Redrock Grill is very close to my hotel I see, but only open in the evenings. We will give it a try.
I was very sad to see that the botanical garden has just closed for a year! I was planning on going there. Any great parks for walking, etc?
