Non smoking Las vegas
I understand that there are some non smoking hotels in Vegas now. I believe Trump International and Vrada or something like that.. I am wondering if its worth saying at a non smoking verus smoking. I know some have good ventalation systems.
Has anyone stayed at the nonsmoking hotels????

If you have an allergic reaction to cigarette smoke, simply can't stand the smell, or recently quit smoking and don't want to be tempted, then, yes, I think it is worth staying at a non-smoking hotel.
I have not stayed at a non-smoking hotel, but I think I've stayed in non-smoking rooms (or perhaps the ventilation was so good I didn't smell it). Then, again, I don't have issues with people smoking, so even if I do smell smoke, it's not an offensive smell to me, like some perfumes that really cause me to retch.

The nicer hotels have smoking sufficiently segregated that you hardly notice it. With some hotels (such as the Mirage), you can't avoid walking through the casino to get to your room or the restaurants. But, at places such as Wynn, Paris, Bellagio, Venetian, etc., you can nearly avoid smokers entirely. At any hotel, all of the common areas and hallways, etc. are smoke free. And, smoking rooms are on designated floors.
The problem with Trump, MGM, is their distance from the Strip/Center Strip, so much would depend on where you plan to go (restaurants, shows...) during your visit.
There was much less smoking all about than I would have presumed.

Due to asthma related reasons we've made 3 nights reservations in late April for the non smoking hotel Residence Inn Las Vegas Hughes Center operated by Marriott. It includes a full breakfast. This will be our first trip to Las Vegas, and realize this hotel is not directly on the strip. HAS ANYONE EXPEREINCED OR HAVE COMMENTS ABOUT THE RESIDENCE INN/HUGHES CENTER?

Well, I've found many of the hotels along the strip have greatly improved on the smoking thing. I am very allergic to cigarette smoke and I was in several casinos last year that were fine.
One issue I had, though, is that I am also sensitive to some chemicals/smells. And whatever the MGM Grand was pumping into their system to eliminate the smoke smell gave me an immediate headache.
But I think you will be suprised at how little smoke you will run into these days. All the big hotels have smoke-free rooms and smoke-free gambling tables.
That being said, please take a look at the Monorail map. The new train system runs behind the hotels on the east side of the strip. It is awesome. There is info on the train that tells you which casinos are accessible from which stops. I'm sure your hotel will also have a map. We stayed on the far north side of the strip at the Hilton, and the train was right outside their front door. Loved it.:

You'll have a great trip. I also highly, highly recommend the Beatles Love show by Cirque du Soleil. Awesome!! The best show I've ever seen in Vegas. And I've seen a few.

stayed at the Signature in october for exactly the non-smkoking reason. it was brilliant. i thought someone was smoking on my floor (yes, I am the smoke police) and they sent a manager up straight away. I highly recommend it. everyone says it's off the strip, but that's by a 3 or 4 minute walk! plus you can connect directly to the strip through the MGM Grand

I am pretty sensitive to smoke and think the Ventian has excellent ventilation - I never notice the smoke. I have stayed @ the Marriott Grand Chateu <sp> and I believe that is all non-smoking - very nice property.
