Need Hotel in NYC
Anyone know a nice, clean, hotel in NYC we can get for a weekday within the next couple of weeks? We booked at the Michaelangelo for one night, but we need another night and they won't give it to us at the internet promotion rate (which was awesome)! Like to be in Midtown/Times Square area.

Here are several places I've stayed and really liked:
1. Hilton New York - at 6th Ave & 53rd Street, short walk to Time Square, very close to Rockefeller Ctr and MOMA. Great hotel.
2. Hilton Times Square - this is on 42nd Street just west of Time Square. It's an air rights property, so the lobby is on the 22nd floor. Really nice hotel, and many of the rooms have good views, I think.
3. Doubletree Suites - this is right on Time Square at 47th & 7th Ave. Great hotel, and extremely roomy. The suites have a physically separate bedroom, with a door, and if you have kids they can stay out in the LR on the fold-out.

Have you tried to go back and get the rate online for a second night? Might work.
There are so many hotels in town so I'd suggest checking www.hotwire.com, www.hotels.com and www.expedia.com
Have a great time while you are here.

There are actually some good prices right now in NYC since it is a lower season. Weekdays are touger because business travel is still going on. I saw some good rates during the week at the Sheratons and at the W Court.

1) Make a cancelable reservation some place. There's a special for $199 on travelzoo.com for the Millenium Broadway on certain nights or look on quikbook.com
2) Try bidding on Priceline for a 4* hotel in any area with "midtown" in the name. You will likely get something for $120-160/night on a 2 night stay.
Btw, once you've got yourselves situated for 2 nights, I'd cancel the Michelangelo. It's a waste of time on such a short stay to change hotels.
