Need help with one-way car rental from Kalispell, MT??

I'm flying into Kalispell, MT, August 28th and want to rent a car one-way to Denver, CO, dropping off the car on September 9th at the Denver Airport. However, this 12-day one-way car rental is well over $1,000 including taxes and fees -- even for an economy car. Does anyone know of a cheaper one-way car rental in Kalispell?

Hi, I think that the problem you have will be tough to overcome. The main rental companies run the bigger airport/city locations and many of the much smaller spots are franchises. The price to do one-way rentals between the two sets is prohibitive, for a reason (to discourage you from doing them).

Most one-way rentals are mere trades of cars owned by the same core company, and thus the more reasonable rates. In this case you would essentially be taking one group's car and depositing it in the hands of another group, in many cases.

Hope you can find something that suits you.

I ran across this problem when we flew into Missoula, MT. I think we broke up the rental over a 2 week period to make it cheaper, but we still paid an insane amount! I believe we paid around $350 for a 3 day rental from Missoula to another city in Montana, then switched to another rental for a week and a half that cost around $750!!! We dropped that car off in Rapid City, SD. One way rental prices are insane.

It might be impossible but you are getting to the point where you should buy a car in Kalispell and sell it in Denver. You could take a loss on the sale and still come out ahead.

Impossible to get a decent one way rental out of here (Kalispell)
There's obviously a reason you want to drive however you can fly Kalispell to Denver on Alaska Air in August for $254.00
