I believe the north is a little quieter. In the south you have the boardwalk, the amusement places, etc. We stayed in N. Myrtle Beach and I liked it much better. It's really a matter of preference I guess.

All I can tell you is ALL of Myrtle Beach is crowded from March 19-24. There is a huge National Cheerleading Competition that whole week. If you want to see and hear a bunch of sreeching young men and women. Then go at this time. I have the privilage of being there last year at that time. The hotels were filled, the resturants were filled, forget Broadway at the Beach - can't get near it.
