Monte Carlo or Planet Hollywood?
I'm taking my husband to Las Vegas for his birthday in late January and can get the Monte Carlo and Planet Hollywood for the same price. With price being equal, which hotel would you choose and why?

PH is more recently remodeled, has the Miracle Mile of shops/restaurants on the ground level, better parking and parking access (unless MC has fixed the problem they had when they were building Aria, etc.), and IMO, it's easier to walk to other casinos from that side of the strip. (Don't personally like the gaming options of either.)
MC's pool complex might be better, but in January, probably not an issue.
p.s. You might check your prices again with better vegas.com, or a host of websites (cheapovegas.com); you could probably get Bellagio or other for similar prices, and I've seen Aria/City Center lately for ~$120)

I've never stayed at Planet Hollywood, but of the two that is where I would say because the location is a little better and because the last time we stayed at Monte Carol housekeeping wasn't up to snuff.

I stayed at PH in September. It was okay, nothing too great but nothing particularly bad about it either. The room was recently remodeled but the one I had was weird - both the layout and the one small window. Haven't stayed at Monte Carlo in a number of years. If price was comparable, I would choose Paris over both the PH and MC.

Thanks, all, for the comments. I'm able to use a military rate ($93 a night) at the affiliated hotels (Paris, Caesars, etc.) IF there is rate availability. Unfortunately, PH was the one that suited (a Fri/Sat in late Jan). I then saw a Monte Carlo rate that would price out at pretty much the same as the military rate which is why I asked the question. On TripAdvisor, PH is rated well above Monte Carlo, but that's doesn't always mean anything. We're also hoping to utilize the '$20 Sandwich' to get a better room and I know that the opportunities for success are much better at PH.
